Good Life

Happy Wednesday guys!
I'm so thrilled that it's finally chilly enough to wear boots and a coat!  Can I get an AMEN??  The colder weather is the perfect time to pile on the layers, like my polka dot coat (it's a go-to) I paired with a turtleneck from Loft.  I'm obsessing over turtlenecks right now!
I couldn't hunt down the exact one, but I love this knit sweater and this fluffy grey turtleneck.  This one from J.Crew is my fave though.
Bonus points because its on sale!

Over the weekend B and I went to see the ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord Texan with some friends.  We had a great time walking through whole rooms and sculptures made of only ice.  It was amazing how eeeeevery single thing was made of ice, and also freezing cold at 9 degrees!  Hence the "really cute" blue parkas we had to wear.
After church, we went and had 70 minute long massages (it was his first time having one) and then went straight home to chill and lay on the couch all day.  Safe to say it was a very successful weekend.

Here lately I've just been thinking about being grateful in every season of my life, no matter if it's going well or not so good.
I just have to remind myself that I have a really great life, regardless of what problems or circumstances come my way.  I have a God who always takes care of me and knows what I need before I need it.  I truly would not have peace and happiness without Him at the center of my life.  Sometimes I just have to take a step back and look at all He's done for me and be thankful.  So even when life isn't so great, we have this hope that He is always in control,  He is always for us, He always loves us.

I hope you all have a great week, thanks for stopping by!

Run Like There's a Sale at Nordstrom

Happy Friday guys!

While at the gym the other day I thought to share this simple (but grueling) workout we did this week.  You can do it practically any where, just grab a running buddy or your headphones, and go!
Running is one of my least favorite things to do, but knowing there was a rest in between I felt like I was able to push myself.  It also helps when there are 10+ people suffering with you. :)

Taking a week off from the gym (and eating nonstop) probably wasn't the best idea because it's been extra hard for me to get motivated this week.  Hopefully I'll be more into it as we get back into our daily routine.  Yesterday we took the day off from the gym and relaxed and cooked dinner with some friends; the time off was much needed!

Below is the workout, make sure to stretch and warm up!

Warm up:
Something just to get your heart pumping.  Like a donut maybe.. I kid, I kid.
We did a 400 meter run, 20-30 high knees and 20-30 butt kicks.

Work Out: 2 rounds!

200 meter run
-rest 30 sec.-
400 meter run
-rest 60 sec.-
600 meter run
-rest 90 sec.-
800 meter run
rest 2:00 min.-
(repeat)

*Make sure to stretch BEFORE and AFTER!  I'm personally so bad at this, but it's super important.*

After all that running my legs felt like jello and I could barely walk, but it was so worth it in the long run. (pun not intended, hehe)
One thing about Crossfit I've learned is that sometimes you have to do the things you hate. That's the only way they become the things you like to do rather than dread to do.  As our coach says, "The worst thing that'll happen is you'll get a little bit fitter."  So get out and just do some form of exercise, so you can eat however you want this weekend!  At least that's what I'm doing.
I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!

Monochromatic Cream

Happy Monday night guys!  Today I tried to do as little as possible.  Me and B even took a nice nap before we went to the gym for the first time in a week (yikes), and to be honest, I'm still recovering from the 8 hour drive home yesterday.
It's pretty rare for me to put on an outfit and not have to change a zillion times.  I was running a little behind this particular morning so I just ran a straightener through my hair really quickly, combed through some Kenra Silkening Gloss, kissed my puppies goodbye, and ran out the door.  Guys, this stuff is SO GOOD and I LOVE the way it smells.  I use it at least twice on all of my clients.

I wanted to go for a monochromatic look because those are easier for me when I'm in a hurry and don't have much time.
I love this cream, draped dress (couldn't hunt down the exact dress, but I love thisthis, and this).  I got it at a UAL for our engagement party last winter on sale, holla!
I wanted to dress it down a tad and be a bit more comfy so I added this super slouchy t-shirt.  Mine is from Old Navy, but this Karl Lagerfield fringe tee, this tassel trimmed tee, or this oversized tee could be cute paired with it as well.
This dress was the first thing I put on. I slipped the shirt on and it just felt right. You know the feeling?
Here lately I've been really loving to layer a sweater or blouse over a dress, and I can't wait for the weather to cool off so I can layer on jackets and tights!
I really need to add to my flats collection, but right now these cheetah print ones are my go-to's! They pretty much go with everything, so you'll be seeing them often. :)
I also love these gold ballet flats from Old Navy.

After unpacking from our trip home for Thanksgiving and cleaning, I spent the rest of the day lounging around the house (traveling makes me so sleepy).
What did you guys do for the holidays?? I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and a relaxing weekend!

BLUE X BLUE

Wow!
It's been a while since I've talked to you guys!  I'm going to do my best to post more regularly.. and to not be such a procrastinator.
These pics (from about 1 year ago) almost make me miss my short hair.  Almost.  My hair is the longest its been in 2 years and I couldn't be more thrilled, or less patient for it to grow even more.  I'm anxiously awaiting the day that I have long mermaid hair flowing down my back that gets stuck in my armpits.
lol
This skirt gives me major Disney Princess twirl vibes.

Its true love. I've owned this skirt for a few years now, *scored it on sale at Old Navy!* but this is the first time for me to actually wear it!  Check out This one from H&M; it's a steal $$ wise.  I also love this pleated J.Crew skirt, it's a beautiful, rich royal blue.
When I lived in Mississippi before me and B got married, my mom and I would go 'thrifting' every Saturday morning. I always loved spending that time with her; finding classic pieces to add to my closet.  I love a good thrifty find like this Gap light chambray button up.  It's the perfect boyfriend fit.
These clunky Kelsi Dagger heels have been a staple in my closet for a few years now and I don't think I'll ever get rid of them.  They're pretty comfortable and snug, making them easy to walk in for such a tall heel. I also love these lace up sandals, and this pair of open toe wedges.

I'm finally caught up on all the laundry from our trip back home, I made B a sandwich, and now we're off to the gym (we were bad and skipped yesterday)!

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful 'Friyay'!

details:
My gold tassel/chain bracelet is from TJMAXX, but this Kendra Scott tassel bracelet is pretty similar.  I also love this BCBG cuff and this gold cuff, these gold bangles, and this cute dainty gold cuff
Lets be real, My 'Chanel' bag is a knockoff from the Bahamas a few years ago ;)
